DEHOGA Environmental Check

Altstadthotel Arch receives ‘DEHOGA Environmental Check’ in gold - award for environmentally conscious and sustainable behaviour

The Altstadthotel Arch has been awarded the ‘DEHOGA Environmental Check’ in gold. Managing Director Petra Rödl accepted the certificate from Angela Inselkammer, President of the Bavarian Hotel and Restaurant Association DEHOGA Bayern, on 31 October 2024 in Regensburg. The award confirms the investments made in recent years in the areas of environmental and climate protection. The hotel thus demonstrates that practised environmental protection and economic success can go hand in hand.

How the DEHOGA environmental check works:

Participants in the ‘DEHOGA Environmental Check’ must undergo a critical review of the areas of energy and water consumption, waste generation or residual waste and food, such as regional purchasing. Differentiated threshold values and requirements for the bronze, silver and gold award levels are defined for each of the four categories. The individual characteristics of the businesses are taken into account.

Background ‘DEHOGA Environmental Check’:

The ‘DEHOGA Environmental Check’ is the continuation of the DEHOGA Federal Association's energy campaign for the hotel and catering industry, which was launched in 2006 together with the Federal Ministry for the Environment and in which almost 6,000 hotel and catering businesses are now participating. The ‘DEHOGA Environmental Check’ was designed for the specific requirements of the hospitality industry and its predominantly small and medium-sized businesses. In addition to its relevance to the industry and practical relevance, it enables a fair and transparent comparison of the participating businesses.

All businesses that have been awarded the ‘DEHOGA Environmental Check’ are published on the website at www.dehoga-umweltcheck.de. All further detailed information on the ‘DEHOGA Environmental Check’ can also be found there.
