In 2026, Dom St. Peter marks a special anniversary: 750 years of the Gothic cathedral. On this evening, it opens its doors in an entirely different way. Nightfever, the international prayer initiative of Jugend 2000, invites visitors to pause on 11 July: the evening begins at 6:30 PM with a youth mass celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Reinhard Pappenberger, with music by the Jugend 2000 Band. The cathedral then remains open until 9:30 PM for quiet prayer, adoration, conversation and the sacrament of reconciliation. The evening closes with the sung Compline, the Church's night prayer.
Candlelight, meditative chants and the extraordinary atmosphere of the Gothic cathedral – Nightfever is not an ordinary service, but an encounter. Altstadthotel Arch is just a few steps from the Domplatz.
