As the sun sets and the first stars appear, things are just getting started at the Grieser Steg. Cinema Paradiso is Regensburg's most distinctive open-air cinema: right on the banks of the Danube, framed by trees, with a charm that no ordinary cinema can match. From 09 July to 23 August 2026, the Kinos im Andreasstadel present 46 carefully selected evenings – from fresh German productions and international arthouse films to classics that simply have to be rediscovered under the open sky.
The 2026 programme has plenty to offer: "Ein fast perfekter Antrag", filmed right here in Regensburg with Heiner Lauterbach and Iris Berben, makes its Paradiso debut; Jim Jarmusch returns after six years with "Father Mother Sister Brother"; Wes Anderson's "Moonrise Kingdom" and "Back to the Future" screen as Wednesday classics; and Yorgos Lanthimos delivers his next wonderfully strange film with Emma Stone in "Bugonia". For food and drink, the Kurt family prepares fresh Turkish dishes daily, with snacks and good wine at the Paradiso Bar throughout the evening.
Altstadthotel Arch is in the old town – the Grieser Steg is within easy walking distance across the Steinerne Brücke.
