Passion, rhythm and the magic of Spanish cinema – for 19 years, cinEScultura has been bringing Spain to Regensburg. In autumn 2026, the festival centres around the 14th cinEScultura Short Film Competition: three days of Hispanic short films screened, judged and celebrated at the Leerer Beutel – a showcase for young, creative filmmaking from Spain and Latin America.
2026 is also a year of new beginnings: festival founder Pedro Álvarez Olañeta hands over leadership to Prof. Dr. Ralf Junkerjürgen, a generational change that brings fresh energy while preserving the festival's spirit. The autumn programme in October is the second part of a two-stage festival: the spring edition in April featured films with music at their heart, plus an opening concert by Jorge Pardo & Cristian de Moret at the Jazzclub Regensburg.
