High above the choir of Regensburg's cathedral, it floats like a constellation: the Rieger organ, a 37-tonne masterpiece completed in 2009 and one of the finest concert organs in Europe. On ten Wednesday evenings from May to July 2026, it unfolds its full tonal spectrum: Cathedral organist Franz Josef Stoiber welcomes international guests from Vienna, Cologne, Paris, London and Prague – transforming the Gothic cathedral into an incomparable concert hall.
Altstadthotel Arch is just a few minutes' walk from the cathedral – perfect for combining an unforgettable evening in one of Germany's most beautiful cathedrals with a stay in Regensburg. Tickets are available at the DOMPLATZ 5 information centre or at the door – early arrival is recommended.
